Proper use is fundamental to reducing wear and tear on telescopic ladders. First, strictly adhere to load limits. Each telescopic ladder has a clearly defined rated load capacity; ensure the load does not exceed this limit to avoid overloading, which could deform the ladder tubing or cause locking failure. Second, choose a suitable work site, preferably on a flat, firm surface. If the surface is smooth, lay down a non-slip mat to prevent slippage and wear on the bottom. Avoid sharp objects, acidic or alkaline environments, and other harsh conditions to prevent scratches or corrosion of the tubing. Furthermore, operate gently, ensuring all sections are aligned and the locking mechanisms are fully engaged before proceeding. Avoid forceful stretching, contraction, or impacts to minimize wear and tear on mechanical components.

Scientific maintenance is key to extending the lifespan of telescopic ladders. After daily use, clean the ladder promptly. For metal ladders, wipe away dust and water stains with a dry cloth. If oil stains are present, use a neutral detergent to clean, avoiding acidic or alkaline detergents that could corrode the coating. For aluminum alloy ladders, pay special attention to cleaning dust from the joints to prevent wear and oxidation. Secondly, regularly inspect key components, including latches, hinges, and guide rails, for looseness, deformation, or wear. Tighten or replace any problematic parts promptly. Regularly lubricate moving parts, such as latches and telescopic guide rails, to reduce friction and wear. Use a specialized lubricant that doesn't attract dust. Additionally, if minor scratches or coating peeling appear on the ladder, apply anti-rust paint or a special coating immediately to prevent exposed metal from rusting.

Proper storage is crucial to preventing damage from idle telescopic ladders. Before storing, ensure the ladder is completely dry and clean to avoid rust caused by dampness. Store in a dry, well-ventilated, and dark place, away from heat sources, water sources, and corrosive chemicals. The ladder can be fully retracted and placed upright, or laid flat on a dry surface. Avoid tilting the ladder as this can cause uneven stress. Also, avoid placing heavy objects on the ladder to prevent deformation. For telescopic ladders that are not used for extended periods, regular inspection and maintenance are recommended. Wipe them down and check the latches at least once a month to ensure safety and reliability before reuse.
